Facebook is an awesome means to connect with friends, get information on organizations and colleges and meet new people who have a similar opinion on debated subjects or simply the same hobby.


However people fear that facebook is a time waster and leave potential to harm. They're just whiners. Everything can have a potential to misuse or harm. To accuse facebook for such reasons is schizophrenic. It's like denying cars because they can kill people! I admit facebook is open to misuse or harm for the users but the benefits facebook can give outweighs the overall harm facebook can ever give.

What people need to really think about is not whether or not we should try to avoid this cultural trend but how we can make use of this in a better way. Teaching people the safety measures and how to control your time is something we should aim for. Facebook is just a harmless cultural trend which we are undermining because we tend to misuse it thanks to lack of information.
